Junior Contracts Manager

The Junior Contracts Manager will support the delivery of electrical projects from initial enquiry through to completion and handover. Working closely with senior management, you will help coordinate projects across commercial, industrial and education sectors while developing your technical, commercial and leadership skills.

This is a hands-on, office-based role with site attendance as required, offering a clear pathway to progress into a senior contracts management position within Black Pear Electrical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of multiple electrical projects from estimating and mobilisation through to completion and handover
  • Assist with preparing estimates, quotations and variations under guidance from senior staff
  • Help coordinate project programmes, resources and subcontract labour
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, suppliers and consultants alongside senior management
  • Attend site, progress and design meetings as required
  • Assist in producing and reviewing project documentation including RAMS and construction phase information
  • Monitor project costs, labour and materials to support margin and budget control
  • Support engineers and administrative staff with technical and operational queries
  • Help maintain Health & Safety compliance across projects
  • Support quality control processes in line with ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and company standards

Estimating and Commercial Responsibility

  • Support pricing of projects up to £300,000 with guidance
  • Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications and scopes of work
  • Develop understanding of procurement, supplier engagement and cost forecasting
  • Ensure quotations are accurate, competitive and delivered on time

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified electrician with a minimum of 6 years on the tools
  • Some experience in project coordination, estimating or site supervision preferred
  • Excellent understanding of electrical installation and regulations
  • Experience working with engineers and subcontractors on site
  • Confident PC user with willingness to learn estimating and job management software
  • ECS, CSCS, SSSTS desirable but not essential
