Emergency Lighting Testing

What happens if there is a power cut in your building? Do you have emergency lighting? Do you regularly test your emergency lighting? If not, we can help. At Black Pear Electrical we are qualified to test, maintain and install emergency lighting, helping you to keep your building and the people inside it safe.

“Emergency lighting is for an emergency situation when the main power supply is cut and any normal illumination fails.”

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, every employer is required to carry out a risk assessment to identify any risks to people who enter the employer’s premises. Having identified the risks, the employer is required to take action to safeguard the occupants of the building. These actions need to include the provision of safe means of escape, including where necessary, emergency lighting.

The types of emergency lighting required vary according to the building design, its use, and the number of people who use the space. By ensuring that you have the correct emergency lighting for your premises you are fulfilling your legal obligations and safeguarding those people who use your building.
