Are you responsible for a school?

Black Pear Electrical | We;re school sprcialists

Do you own, manage or are responsible for a school? Are you a school Governor or trustee?  Schools tend to be large buildings that are subject to a high level of use, and wear and tear. As part of your duty it is imperative that you ensure that all your tests are up to date and any work identified as a result of the testing has been carried out. Schools can be difficult to access during the term time due to the sheer quantity of people using the premise, but the summer holidays can provide an ideal opportunity to carry out all the necessary testing and subsequent work.

At Black Pear Electrical we understand the complexities of fitting in all your maintenance into a period of six weeks over the summer holidays. We will always work with you around your timetable to ensure that your testing and maintenance takes place at your convenience. With our EICR (Electrical Installation Conditions Report) testing we not only ensure that your building is safe, but also identity any necessary work. The work is graded according to severity and with timescales attached. This allows you to plan for the work to be carried out over a period of time, with the most urgent of tasks being done first.

The guidelines for safeguarding your school are covered by the following regulations: The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 also set out specific requirements on electrical safety. All schools, LEAs and governing bodies are required to comply with these regulations. If you have any queries regarding what steps you need to take to ensure your school is compliant, contact Black Pear Electrical. An EICR ensures that you have taken necessary steps to test your electrical installations.

When you come to Black Pear Electrical to discuss your EICR, we will work with you to ensure that your work is carried out at a time that is convenient to you, and fits around the holiday dates of your school. Our professional, qualified and competent staff will carry out your work to a high standard of care and diligence. We will give you a detailed analysis including timeframes of any work that is needed so that you can plan accordingly.
